While at work in Jersey City I received a call from a woman not too far away over in Westfield asking if I could possibly help find her husbands wedding ring that he had lost the previous weekend in her parents backyard while attending a party? Well since Westfield as basically on my way home down the turnpike I told her I could stop by later today after work. Arriving at the property and getting information as to where he thought it could been lost in the faily large yard I began my grid pattern search with my White’s V3i metal detector. Unfortunately the yard had numerous buried metal drainage grates and pipes which could easily mask the gold ring if I did swing the searchcoil over it. Fortunately I had decided to use a small coil which enabled me to still work the area by required careful listening for that one difference in signals from the detector. After about 45 minutes I heard what I was waiting for and as I looked down I could see the ring in the grass just waiting for me!
I left the ring there and called her out to show me the area again and asked if maybe right there was the area pointing to the ring in the grass. She began laughing with amazement and couldn’t wait to call her husband with the good news at work.Another happy customer!
