Recovery # 469

Covering a call for fellow ring finder Dave Milsted whose laid up right now I made arrangements with the customer to meet this morning. Hearing aids can be a tough find as there is very little metal in their construction so I chose my XP Deus ORX in a very high frequency 74kHz Gold prospecting mode to hear the smallest of signals. After just a few minutes and a couple junk items I got to a rock garden area along the sidewalk and bingo!

A very happy, amazed and relieved customer!

Recovery #468

I was out detecting till 3am and got a wake up text from Jessica at 730 asking if I could help locate her wedding band she lost the night before. I was tired but said yes, i had time before they opened the beaches up. Jessica was ment to have her ring back. She was down watching the fireworks the night before and when she got home noticed her ring missing. She really didnt give me much information as to where to look. She just told me somewhere between 3rd and 4th ave mid beach. Told me what her ring looked like. I didnt have much hope with such a large area to look in but figured id give it a try. Got down to the beach and started detecting from the end of the walkway mat they have down towards 4th ave. Looking at the sand there weren’t many foot prints or butt impressions showing people were there so i figured id move down towards the water where there were. Heading back to where i starting on an angle towards the water, i wasnt 15 feet and got a great signal and figured id check it out and after scooping up some sand there was a gold ring in my scoop. It was hers. The first and only thing i dug. I feel like i must of been guided there. I went back to my car to phone her and give her the good news. She couldn't believe it and came down to meet me and get her ring back. A great and happy ending.

  Recovery #466/467

Received a call from Daniel after he was referred to me by Cape May Police Dept. Daniel explained that his wife had dropped both of her rings in the sand two days ago while at the beach with family in Cape May Point. Daniels wife had taken the rings off to apply sunscreen and simply forgotten about them on her lap, a very common mistake, btw. A nearby good samaritan had lent Daniel a metal detector but they had no luck recovering the rings themselves. I gathered some details from Daniel in regards to location and he was also able to send me a dropped pin to get me as close to the area as possible. I arrived on the beach in CMP first thing this morning and began searching. I was able to recover both rings in about 25 minutes and return them to Daniel before he and his family left to return home. Nothing like ending thst vacation on a high note! Another happy couple!
