Recovery #497

Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from fellow Ring Finder Jeff Laag if I could go to manasquan to recover a lost ring for Kerrigan. I told him to send her number, I'd call her. Called her and said I'd be there but didn't know how long it would take to find parking. She sent me her address and said I could park in her driveway which was a short distance to the beach. I got there and Kerrigan met me at the beach entrance. She took me to where her towels were and told me she took off her ring to go in the ocean and placed it in a shoe. During the course of the day the shoe got moved and the ring fell out into the sand. She looked but couldn't find it. She found Jeff in a Google search and that led to me. I turned on my detector and took 1 sweep and got a good signal, and sure enough out pops her ring. She was so glad to get her ring back and couldn't believe how quick I found it. A great happy ending.

Recovery #496

Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Matty St Germain asking if I had time to go to Manasquan to look for a Diamond engagement ring lost in the sand. He gave me Erin's number and I gave her a call. Told her if she's going to stay on the beach I'd get there a soon as I could. I got to Manasquan but there was no parking what so ever. Finally found a spot, quite a distance to beach and started walking. Found Erin on the beach and she told me she took off her ring to put lotion on and put it in the cup holder on her chair. Being a winding day the chair blew over and her ring went flying into the sand. She and her friends looked for it but had no luck. She went up to the badge checker to ask if they could help and after a Google search she found us. The search area was small and it only took a few minutes to have her ring in my scoop. The look of joy on her face said it all. A great ending to what could of been a really bad day. I'm glad I was able to help.

Call or Text

While at work I got a call from a past employee Patty asking if my detector can find eye glasses in a metal frame. I told her it could and she asked for help. Turns out her husband while docking a boat slipped and fell into the water off the dock and his glasses flew off his face into the water. I had at first told her I’d meet her Saturday for low tide but I had a break coming up at work and it was already low tide so we agreed to meet in a half hour. I ran home and threw on a bathing suit and got my detector and headed to the marina. She showed me where he went into the water and it wasnt deep but the bottom was covered in seaweed. I decided not to use my scoop so not to damage his glasses. First signal turned out to be nothing and I moved to the side towards the boat and got another good signal reached down and felt around in the seaweed and felt his glasses. I untangled them from the seaweed and held them up and they were so happy to get them back. Her husband can see clear again and I saved him from having to get a new pair. A great ending to another recovery. Ran back home for a quick shower and back to work. Glad I could help
